Ingush activist Musa Pliev sentenced to 18 months in colony

The court has sentenced Musa Pliev, a participant of the March rally in Magas, to 18 months in colony. He will be back at large on January 9, 2020, as the court included the time spent in custody into the sentence.

At the trial, Pliev confessed to throwing a stone at a law enforcer during the rally.

On March 26, 2019, residents of Ingushetia extended their rally held in a Magas square, which led to clashes with policemen. In April, mass arrests of oppositionists began in the republic. According to calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", at least 96 activists were persecuted. Criminal cases were opened against at least 29 of them.

The court found Pliev guilty of using violence against a state official, which was not dangerous to the latter's life or health, committed "based on political hostility."

Pliev is not going to appeal against the judgement.

Earlier, four months of colony were awarded to Ramazan Gagiev, another participant of the rally in Ingushetia; Seit-Magomed Nalgiev was sentenced to 16 months in colony; Zelimkhan Tomov – to 17 months in colony.
