Documentary raises problem of civilians' kidnappings in conflict zones
A documentary about the abduction and torture of a Ukrainian woman was screened in Georgia. Spectators have noted that countries have similar problems in terms of illegal detentions on the contact line.
On December 6, Tbilisi held a show for NGOs of the documentary film by Olga Volynskaya "The Unbroken", which tells about Irina Dovgan, a resident of Ukraine, who spent five days in captivity in Donetsk.
Irina Dovgan told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that she had been captured for raising money and buying food for volunteers of the Ukrainian Army.
"I believe that Georgia and Ukraine have similar problems; first of all, the problem of illegal detentions on the confrontation line of the parties in conflict," said Alexander Rusetskiy, Director of the "Caucasian Institute for Regional Security".
"Our nations have longstanding friendly relations; I think we need to exchange experiences on how to deal with violence," said Ucha Macharashvili, a member of the Georgian Association of University Psychologists.
