Relatives of two detainees block road in Makhachkala

Law enforcers planted weapons to two residents of Makhachkala and tortured them, claim relatives of the detainees, who have gathered today in front of the building of the Prosecutor's Office for Dagestan.

According to the protesters, Djabrail Ibnukhazharov and Magomedgadji Magomedov were kidnapped by law enforcers, who then came to their houses with searches. The relatives of Djabrail Ibnukhazharov and Magomedgadji Magomedov claim that they saw how law enforcers had brought bags into the houses during the searches.

The protesters were supported by a passer-by who stated that his son was killed by law enforcers several years ago. The man claims that the law enforcers then threatened him.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that relatives of eight residents of Dagestan claimed they had been kidnapped and killed by law enforcers. According to the Chechen law enforcement bodies, the above mentioned residents of Dagestan were plotting a terror act and were killed in a shootout. In October, the European Court of Human Rights (ECtHR) registered a complaint about an ineffective investigation into the case, violation of the right to life and the prohibition of torture.
