Journalists and network users condemn threats to Ingush singer Ragda Khanieva

Anonymous morality advocates have demanded from the Ingush Khaniev teip (family clan) to "stop" Ragda Khanieva, a participant of a TV show. Netizens (network users) speak out against persecuting Khanieva.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Ragda Khanieva's performance in the TV show "Golos" (Voice) triggered disputes in social networks about violation of Vainakh rules of decency. Critics demanded from Khanieva, who was embracing, during her performance, other men, to stop calling herself an Ingush. Authoritative people have joined criticism of Khanieva, Djanet Akhilgova, an activist of the "Razvitie" (Development) Resource Centre, has noted.

The police should pay attention to baiting Khanieva, Amina Ramadanova, the author of the publication in the "Daptar" magazine, believes.

Ragda's ill-wishers have issued a video appeal "to all worthy brothers and the Khaniev teip" urging "to show their displeasure to this girl," says the post on the magazine's website.

"If there is at least one man in the Khaniev teip, stop your woman. She has dishonoured our nation," says the appeal.

"This girl has in no way disgraced us, but rather made people speak of our nation as talented to the ill-wishers' envy," another user wrote in response.

A call to Ragda's ill-wishers has appeared in Khanieva's fan account myskyragda on the Instagram. The author urges "to be kinder" and not leave malicious comments in the singer's page.
