Four oppositionists fined for protest in Batumi
The Batumi court has fined Rezo Kharazi, a supporter of the United National Movement (UNM), and three other activists by 500 US dollars each for disobeying the police, while they tried to block the entrance to the government building of Adjara.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that since November 14, a round-the-clock protest action is being held in Tbilisi; it was launched after the failure of the Georgian MPs to vote for the bill assuming to amend the electoral system.
The above Batumi court has fined the four oppositionists detained while they were picketing the government house of Adjara. According to law enforcers, the activists tried to block the government building and did not obey policemen's demands, who urged them to unblock the entrance, the "Batumelebi" has reported.
Rezo Kharazi, a UNM member, Giya Khalvashi, an activist of the "Union of Young Leaders", Alexander Milorava from the "On Homeland's Service" Movement, and Beglar Putkaradze from the NGO "Alternative" were detained on November 15. They opposed the failure of the electoral reform.
