Opponent of the film about homosexual love detained in Batumi

A participant in the action against the screening of the film "And then we danced" has been detained in Batumi after insulting spectators, the police have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the Patriarchy and nationalists opposed the screening in Georgia of the film about the love of two performers of Georgian folk dances, which they treat as propaganda of homosexuality. On November 8, the day of the film premiere, there was a confrontation of protesters with law enforcers at a Tbilisi cinema. After the action, policemen reported 28 detainees in Tbilisi and Batumi.

Rallies against the premiere of the Georgian-Swedish film "And then we danced" resumed on November 9 at Georgian cinemas. Protesters at the "Amirani" Cinema in Tbilisi gathered in a small group with posters reading "Stop LGBT propaganda in Georgia!" and "Homosexuality is a sin and pathology", the TASS reports.

A protester was detained at the "Apollo" Cinema in Batumi, where he insulted people who came to watch the film, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has informed.

According to the MIA, the detainee is charged with petty hooliganism; he was taken to the police station, the "InterPressNews" reports.
