Azerbaijan registers 21 shelling attacks in Karabakh conflict zone

Over the past day, the positions of the Azerbaijani troops were shelled from the direction of Armenia and from the territories under the control of the Nagorno-Karabakh authorities, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) of Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 7, Azerbaijan accused Armenia of 23 shelling attacks per day, and the day before, of 24 shelling attacks.

The number of ceasefire violations registered daily by the Azerbaijani MoD sharply decreased after on September 28, 2018, the leaders of Azerbaijan and Armenia agreed to create a mechanism to prevent violations of the ceasefire agreement. While in September 2018, Azerbaijan registered from 73 to 113 shelling attacks on its positions per day, then, according to the "Caucasian Knot", starting from October 2018, the Azerbaijani MoD reports a maximum of three dozen shelling attacks in the conflict zone per day.

The ceasefire was violated 21 times within 24 hours, the press service of the Azerbaijani MoD reports today.

According to the Azerbaijani MoD, the positions of Azerbaijani troops were shelled in the villages of Asrik Djyrdakhan and Agbulag in the Tovuz District and in the village of Geyali in the Gadabay District.

Till present, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet posted on their official websites any comments on the statement released by the Azerbaijani MoD.
