Islam Kadyrov's mission to Kenkhi shrinks to intimidation of villagers
Islam Kadyrov has appeared in Kenkhi only once after Ramazan Djalaldinov's video appeal, but his only action was to intimidate local state servants; but the villagers' main problems remained unresolved for the fourth year in a row.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on November 4, Ramazan Djalaldinov, a resident of Kenkhi, said that Islam Kadyrov had threatened the state servants of the village after a complaint was sent to President Putin about bureaucrats' lawlessness.
In April 2016, Ramazan Djalaldinov, a resident of Kenkhi, complained to Russian President Vladimir Putin about the difficult situation in his village, indicating that for a long time villagers could not receive compensations for their houses destroyed during the warfare. After that, the house of the Djalaldinov family in Kenkhi was burnt down by some masked people; his wife and children left for Dagestan, and later Ramazan himself had to leave Chechnya because of threats received from the law enforcers.
Islam Kadyrov had never visited either Kenkhi or the Sharoi District before Djalaldinov recorded his video appeal to Mr Putin, the activist himself asserts.
"As soon as my appeal appeared in a social network, Islam Kadyrov arrived that night, accompanied by his subordinates and [local law enforcers]. He gathered all the teachers and school principals of Kenkhi and, by using threats, forced them to record a video condemnation of myself," Ramazan Djalaldinov told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
According to Djalaldinov, after that incident, Islam Kadyrov never appeared in the village.
Ramazan Djalaldinov says that after his video appeal, some village problems were resolved. However, the main problem, which had caused his first video appeal, in his opinion, remains unresolved.
"Although the leadership [of the republic] said that there should be no ruins, but the ruins of the houses destroyed during the last war remain. In the very centre of the village, [including] my house, the buildings have not been restored; there are ruins there. And people failed to receive any compensations," he has stressed.
