Audience finds film "Not Guilty" important for reassessing attitude toward Caucasians

The screening of the film by Andzor Emkuzh, a director from Kabardino-Balkaria, excited the audience. The film "Not Guilty" destroys the negative stereotypes about the Caucasus, fellow countrymen of the film director believe. Anzor Emkuzh spoke about the threats he got before the film was released on the screen.

"The threats came through YouTube, Instagram ... They demonstrate there is intolerance in the society. Those problems should be highlighted. People are equal, and the world is created for good neighbourly relations. That is what we wanted to say with the film," said Andzor Emkuzh.

He noted that the story about the forgiveness for a killer is based on real events. According to the director, in his films, he describes the Caucasus and the Caucasian worldview.

Khadjimurat Khakuashev, an activist from Nalchik, believes that the media played their role in creating a negative image of a native of the Caucasus. However, he believes that the people's attitude towards Caucasian natives is changing for the better.

Timur Keshtov, another native of Kabardino-Balkaria, who lives in Moscow, agrees that the problem of negative attitude towards Caucasian natives has become not so clear.
