Political analysts exclude any independent opposition to Kadyrov in Chechnya

Local officials may be really unhappy with Kadyrov, but any opposition to him is possible only with the support from Moscow, the interviewed political analysts are sure.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the "Novaya Gazeta" newspaper wrote that high-ranking Chechen officials suspected of disloyalty to Ramzan Kadyrov were detained and tortured.

Local officials may be unhappy with the Chechen leader, Maxim Shevchenko, a journalist, believes. He has noted that "under any authoritarian regime, the main problem is the loyalty of the leader's closest encirclement."

A Chechen political analyst has ruled out a possibility of any real opposition to Kadyrov. According to his story, there are many local officials in Chechnya who are dissatisfied with the republic's leader; but at the same time, they continue holding their posts.

Amid all these reports, Akhmed Dudaev, an adviser to the head of Chechnya, posted on his Instagram a video of Akhmat Kadyrov's speech, where he talks about trust among comrades.

"This leads to certain thoughts. Our officials are constantly declaring their loyalty, but some, as it turns out, have demonstrated hypocrisy," said Aslan, a local resident.

"Apparently, not everything is calm at our tops, since Ramzan has to 'purge' his closest retinue," Idris believes.

Let us remind you that Apti Alaudinov, the head of the Chechen Police, has refuted the information of the "Novaya Gazeta" that he had fallen into disgrace because of a comic slap in the face of Kadyrov's portrait.
