Awarding Academician title to Mufti of Chechnya criticized in social networks
Ramzan Kadyrov has congratulated Salakh-Haji Mezhiev, the Mufti of Chechnya, who became a member of the Royal Jordanian Academy of Prophet Descendants. Commentators in social networks noted that Mezhiev has no higher spiritual education.
The head of Chechnya congratulated the Mufti after returning from Jordan, where Kadyrov led the Chechen delegation.
"He is irreconcilable to the enemies of Islam, no matter what masks they use to hide their true face," Kadyrov has added on October 11 in his publication in his page on the VKontakte social network.
The news of awarding Mezhiev the title of Academician was criticized by some commentators in the community "ChP Chechnya" on the Instagram, "How can he spread something that he himself doesn't know?" asked the user pizzerist. "He himself has no knowledge in Islam, since he hasn't acquired it anywhere," wrote the user amis.323, calling Mezhiev a "self-taught person."
Salakh Mezhiev, unlike his predecessors in the post of Mufti of Chechnya or other well-known theologians, has no higher spiritual education, the residents of Chechnya interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot" have also noted. "We only know about Salakh Mezhiev that he studied Islam from prominent Chechen theologians. In a sense, it turns out that the republic's Mufti is really a 'self-taught' man. Hence we have questions regarding his inclusion in the Royal Jordanian Academy of Prophet Descendants," Ibragim, a resident of Chechnya, has explained.
