Investigators soften charge against rally participant in Ingushetia

Investigators softened the charge against Adam Badiev, a participant in the protests in Magas. While earlier, he was accused of using violence dangerous to lives of public officers, now the charge implies the use of violence which was not life-threatening.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on August 29, advocate Magomed Bekov reported that the investigators softened the charge against six protesters in the rally in Magas.

"Apparently, the investigators do not have evidence that more than 25 participants in the rally are guilty of using violence dangerous to lives of public officers. It is expected that the charges against several more activists will be also softened in the near future," reported Timur Akiev, the chief of the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" office in Nazran.

Earlier, according to the HRC "Memorial", public prosecutors softened the charges against six other participants in the protesters in Magas, including Zelimkhan Tomov, Magomed Ozdoev, Ramazan Gagiev, Adam Azhigov, Ibragim Muzhakhoev, and Ibragim Azhigov.
