KBR resident cannot take out his deceased wife's body from China

A hospital in China would not give out the body of Anisat Ervasova, a deceased resident of the Kabardino-Balkarian Republic (KBR), demanding from her husband to pay more than 1.5 million roubles for her resuscitation; 800,000 roubles are needed for embalming and transporting the body.

An active fundraising for treatment of Ms Ervasova in the Chinese clinic was launched this June after it became clear that she had a relapse of a serious illness.

On September 12, the death of Anisat Ervasova was announced by Magomed Kumykov, a KBR film director and screenwriter.

"Do you remember how we raised money for Anisat Ervasova's treatment? She has died in a Chinese clinic, which first had given hope for healing for a cosmic sum of money, and now refuses to give out her body until her husband Oleg pays another 1.6 million roubles for additional treatment and resuscitation measures," Mr Kumykov wrote in his Instagram page.

According to his story, "800,000 roubles more are needed for embalming and transporting the body." "Oleg himself was put out of the hotel long ago; he has to spend his nights in the street [...] He can't and shouldn't leave his wife's body abroad," Magomed Kumykov has added, having posted the number of Oleg Ervasov's bank card, to which money should be sent.

Social network users, while expressing condolences to Anisat's relatives and friends, also express outrage at the actions of Chinese doctors.
