In Dagestan, activists hold rally against adoption of new general plan of Kaspiysk

Three activists of the public organization "Kaspiysk is Our City" went to solo pickets in Makhachkala. They claim that the general plan "will destroy the public territories of the city."

On August 10 and 11, residents of Kaspiysk also protested against the adoption of a new general city plan, which, they believe, will allow construction of multi-storey buildings on the embankment and in the city centre.

In October 2018, a rally was held in Kaspiysk. Its participants claimed that the amendments to the general plan of the city proposed by the authorities would legitimize construction of buildings too close to those which already existed and legalize illegal buildings.

The activists are dissatisfied with the fact that the authorities ignored their comments on the general city plan, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

"We collected more than 2000 signatures against the new general city plan. It will destroy the public territories of our city. All legal requirements of the city residents have not been taken into account by the authorities," said picketer Khabib Aigumov.
