Ingush authorities call on people not to comment on PC game about war in Caucasus
A PC game about battles between Ossetian and Ingush troops can lead to a new round of ethnic hatred, believes Akhmet Yarlykapov, a researcher engaged in oriental studies. An alleged developer turned out to be a citizen of Ukraine, and that fact makes it difficult to bring him to responsibility, stated the authorities of Ingushetia and urged young people not to comment on the PC game on social networks.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yuri Gariev, who introduced himself as a developer of the PC game, said that the idea of the game was not related to the Ossetian-Ingush conflict.
It is a peak of cynicism when in their creative searches, people turn to the topic of the still burning Ossetian-Ingush conflict and use it in PC game wars, believes Akhmet Yarlykapov.
"Such a PC game can provoke young people to inappropriate actions," the researcher said.
Lawyer Lyudmila Tolstonogova notes that inciting ethnic hatred is a serious crime.
"The events of the bloody conflict between Ingushetia and North Ossetia in 1992 are on the list of examples of ethnic hatred," Lyudmila Tolstonogova said.
The appearance of a PC game vividly recalls the events of the 1992 conflict and encourages Internet users to get involved in the game, the lawyer believes.
