In Kabardino-Balkaria, court fines activist for criticizing Vladimir Putin

On August 27, in Kabardino-Balkaria, a court fined Anastasia Emelyanova for voicing a "negative statement" at a rally about the policies of the Russian President and the "Edinaya Rossiya" (United Russia) Party.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that after a rally held on July 13 in the town of Prokhladny, Anastasia Emelyanova sharply criticized the policies of the Russian authorities. The police drew up an administrative report against her.

According to the activist, she was detained because of her statements concerning corruption and concerning the fact that residents had been deprived of the right to choose power.

It should be noted that Anastasia Emelyanova is well known for her active civic position, and she has repeatedly participated in rallies.
