Georgian authorities promise help to victims of border demarcation

Members of the two families from the village of Gugutiantkari, whose households appeared to be on the side of South Ossetia after the border fence had been installed, will be allocated land plots at the expense of the Georgian budget, announces Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of the Gugutiantkari village in the Gori District of Georgia complained about the actions of soldiers, who on August 7 installed a fence from the side of South Ossetia.

Ketevan Tsikhelashvili, Georgian State Minister for Reconciliation and Civil Equality, has visited the families of Razmadze and Gugutishvili, whose abandoned households appeared to be on the side of South Ossetia cordoned off by the barbed wire fence installed in the Gugutiantkari village. The Minister promises that the state will allocate to each of those families a plot of land, which they will be able to use at their discretion. Besides, the families will receive lump sum money assistance, the Minister declares. Members of the Razmadze and Gugutishvili families who have health problems are guaranteed the provision of free medicines, while family members capable of working are offered professional retraining at the expense of the Georgian budget, the Ministry for Reconciliation and Civil Equality reports.
