MP Fikret Radjabov arrested again in Makhachkala
The Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala has arrested Fikret Radjabov, an MP of the National Assembly (Parliament) of Dagestan, for two months on suspicion of a fraud.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Fikret Radjabov was under arrest since May 24 under the case of scams with land plots. On August 1, the Supreme Court (SC) of Dagestan decided to release him from custody. But immediately after leaving the SIZO (pre-trial prison), he was detained under a new case of committing a fraud.
This time, Radjabov was detained "under a minor article than before", namely, under Part 4, Article 159 of the Russian Criminal Code (an especially large-scale fraud organized by a group of persons), said his advocate, Kalaev, who noted that "the new article has to do with the same old case of illegal land allocation."
Mr Kalaev informed the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent that on August 3, the Sovietsky District Court of Makhachkala had ruled to place Fikret Radjabov in custody for two months.
According to the advocate, a new charge has not yet been put forward against Radjabov; he is still in the status of a suspect.
The advocate treats the initiation of a new criminal case against the MP as unjustified. "The episode, under which they initiated a new case against Radjabov, had been earlier incriminated to him," said Kalaev, adding that in this case we can talk about "fact juggling."
