Georgian citizen arrested in Abkhazia for border violation

In Abkhazia, a court pronounced a decision to arrest Georgian citizen Alexander Kapanadze, who was detained on suspicion of illegally crossing the border, the State Security Service of Abkhazia reported on July 31.

"The detainee is placed to the IVS (temporary detention facility) of the Gali ROVD (District Interior Division)," reported the State Security Service of Abkhazia on its website on July 31.

On July 23, Alexander Kapanadze was detained by officers of the Abkhazian State Security Service and border guards of the Russian FSB near the village of Abaakyt in the Gali District, reported the State Security Service of Abkhazia.

Till present, no comments have been available from the arrested person or his agents regarding the court's decision.
