Dagestani woman reports detention of her son by Chechen law enforcers
People in a car with Chechen number plates took Kurban Kurbanaliev from Moscow to Chechnya, relatives are not informed of the reasons for the detention, said Abidat, Kurban's mother in her appeal to Ramzan Kadyrov. Earlier, Chechen law enforcers suspected Kurbanaliev of having links with militants, but stopped persecuting him for absence of corpus delicti.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on July 12, 2018, six people were detained in the Chechen village of Borozdinovskaya. The Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) has stated Kurban Kurbanaliev, a local resident, was suspected of trying to recruit a girl into the ranks of Syrian militants.
Abidat Kurbanalieva, a resident of Dagestan, has stated that her 28-year-old son had worked in Moscow for two months before his detention. People in the car introduced themselves as law enforcers and explained their actions by "prophylactic registration". After his detention in 2018, Kurban spent eight months in custody; then he was released "due to not enough material evidence." The initiation of a criminal case against him was refused, but after his release, law enforcers visited him with threats.
After the first detention in 2018, the young man was tortured, Abdul, a Kurbanaliev's relative, asserts.
