Azerbaijan claims sniper attacks in conflict zone

Over the past day, the ceasefire on the contact line of troops was broken 20 times, and two villages near the border with Armenia were shelled, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Azerbaijan reports today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on June 17, Azerbaijan claimed 16 shelling attacks on its positions.

On June 17-18, the ceasefire regime was violated 20 times, and the positions of the Azerbaijani army in the villages of Kokhanebi in the Tovuz District and Zamanly in the Gadabay District came under fire, the Azerbaijani MoD reports today. The shelling attacks with the use of large-calibre machine guns and sniper rifles came both from the direction of Armenia and from the areas considered by Azerbaijan as its occupied territories, reports the Azerbaijani MoD.

By 9:20 a.m. Moscow time, the Ministries of Defence for Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh have not yet posted on their websites any comments on the statement about the shelling attacks voiced by the Azerbaijani MoD.
