Source tells about the self-incrimination of Circassian activist Kochesoko

After detention of Martin Kochesoko, the head of the Circassian NGO named "Khabze", his hands were sprinkled with marijuana; he was threatened with murder; therefore, the activist was forced to confess to drug possession, a source has stated.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Martin Kochesoko was detained in Nalchik on June 7. During the inspection of his car, law enforcers found a pack of drugs. Martin denied the charges, but on June 13, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced that Kochesoko had pled guilty of illegal possession of marijuana.

However, the source named "Daily Storm" insists that the drugs were planted on Kochesoko; and he was forced to self-incriminate under law enforcers' harsh threats.

"He was told that he had two options: either he admits that the drugs are yours; or we kill you, put a pistol into your hands, and announce you a Wahhabi," the "Daily Storm" quotes a law enforcer as saying.

Kochesoko's hands "were sprinkled with marijuana, so that wash-offs showed that he was touching the drugs," said the source.

Islam Tekushev, the editor-in-chief of the "Caucasus Times", is confident that Kochesoko's confessions were obtained under pressure.

The Council of Elders of Circassians of Karachay-Cherkessia has also expressed confidence that the drugs were planted on the activist, recalling the high profile case of the Moscow journalist Ivan Golunov.
