Georgian citizen detained on South-Ossetian border

A resident of the village of Kveshi, located on the border with South Ossetia, was detained on May 5, the Georgian State Security Service (SSS) has reported today.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 20, the office of the State Minister of Georgia for Reconciliation reported that a resident of the village of Medjvriskhevi, located on the border with South Ossetia, was kidnapped from his land plot. On April 23, he was released after paying a fine for trespassing, and handed over to Georgian law enforcers.

On April 5, an 80-year-old resident of the village of Kveshi of the Gori District was detained, the "InterPressNews" has reported today with reference to the Georgia's SSS.

According to the edition, the above ministry has activated its hotline, and also informed the Monitoring Mission of the European Union (EU).

Amiran Meladze was detained at the separation line while gathering asparagus, the "Echo of the Caucasus" has reported today.
