Morocco gives out native of Dagestan accused of links with militants

Ramazan Salamov, accused of participating in an illegal armed formation (IAF), who was on the international wanted list, has been extradited to Russia, the General Prosecutor's Office (GPO) has informed today.

According to investigators, Ramazan Salamov, a native of Dagestan, joined an IAF in early 2016. Later, he fled from law enforcement bodies. The court ruled to place him behind bars, and Salamov was put on the international wanted list, the Russia's GPO has explained.

Salamov was detained in Morocco. In August 2018, the Russia's GPO sent a request for the extradition of the detainee for attracting him to criminal liability. Today, Salamov was extradited from the Kingdom of Morocco.
