Leaders of Ingush protests not released from Nalchik IVS

Musa Malsagov and Barakh Chemurziev, who have served their administrative arrests, were detained again on suspicion of calling for mass riots and the use of force against a power representative, their advocates have informed.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that three leaders of the protests in Ingushetia – Akhmed Barakhoev, Musa Malsagov and Barakh Chemurziev – were detained after a rally in Magas and from April 3 were serving their 10-day-long administrative arrests at the temporary detention centre (IVS) in Nalchik. The Ingush Supreme Court (SC) upheld the ruling to arrest all the three activists.

Today, about twenty people arrived in Nalchik to meet Chemurziev and Malsagov after their release from the IVS. However, they were not released, because they were detained under criminal cases.

A criminal case has been initiated against Musa Malsagov under Article 212 (appeals to mass riots, or participation therein) and under Part 2, Article 318 (use of violence against a power representative), Malsagov's advocate, Aralbek Dumanishev, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent. Barakh Chemurziev is suspected of attempted violence against a law enforcer, Magomed Abubakarov, his advocate, told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.
