Regular soldier killed in Nagorno-Karabakh

Today, soldier Karen Karapetyan has died from a gunshot wound on the territory of a military unit. The investigation into the circumstances of the incident is underway, the Ministry of Defence (MoD) for Nagorno-Karabakh reports.

At about 6:50 a.m. local time, Karen Karapetyan has been killed in one of the military units of the Defence Army in the northeast direction of the contact line of the troops, the press service of the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD reports.

"Regular soldier Karen Artakovich Karapetyan, born in 2000, got a fatal gunshot wound under unexplained circumstances," states the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD in its report.

An investigation into the incident has been launched, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports with reference to the message released by the Nagorno-Karabakh MoD.

Let us remind you that non-combat losses among soldiers of Armenia and Nagorno-Karabakh increased in 2018. Rights defenders associated the rise in non-combat losses with impunity of commanders and poor training of technical and medical service personnel.
