Fighters for morality concerned over case on harassment of artists in Dagestan

The criminal proceedings against an administrator of a Dagestani public account in a social network provoked discussions of social network users. Some of them criticized the decision to "imprison for threats," while their opponents pointed out that calls for violence against artists were unacceptable.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on March 6, it was reported about the detention of Akhmed Israfilov, an administrator of a public account on Instagram. The man is suspected of extremism in connection with the calls for the disruption of the anime festival and the Egor Kreed's concert in Makhachkala.

According to the FSB Department for Dagestan, Akhmed Israfilov is also suspected of posting threats against actors of the performance "Hunting for Men", reports the RGVK (Republican State Broadcasting Company) "Dagestan".

The Council of Elders of Dagestan expressed concern about the aggressive reaction to the performance and called for tolerance.

Authors of most comments under the video report of the TV Company on YouTube supported Akhmed Israfilov. Others, on the contrary, found the law enforcers' version of extremism reasonable.
