Karabakh veterans support Nikol Pashinyan

In Stepanakert, more than 40 veterans attended a rally on the occasion of the 31st anniversary of the Karabakh liberation movement. The new authorities of Armenia took a tough stance on the Karabakh issue and clearly identified the need for the participation of Nagorno-Karabakh in the negotiation process, stated activists of the Karabakh liberation movement interviewed by the "Caucasian Knot".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that the gathering of activists of the Karabakh liberation movement in Stepanakert on February 13 became an annual tradition.

On February 13, a regular rally of veterans of the Karabakh liberation movement was held in Stepanakert, and the day before, rallies were held in all regions of Nagorno-Karabakh, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reports.

Despite the change of power in Armenia, the goal of Nagorno-Karabakh, associated with international recognition and joining Armenia, remains unchanged, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been told by Gagik Avanesyan, a participant of the rally, an activist of the Karabakh liberation movement.

"The Armenian authorities have firmly stated that there will be no concessions from the Armenian side in the negotiation process. This is one of the positive sides of the power change in Armenia, since no Armenian leader has ever voiced the same position before," said Gagik Avanesyan.

Karabakh MP Ruslan Israelyan sees the right message in the Nikol Pashinyan's statement that Nagorno Karabakh should represent its interests in the negotiation process by itself. "That's right. Earlier, the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR) used to take part in the negotiation process to resolve the Karabakh conflict. So it should be continued," stated Ruslan Israelyan.
