Georgian priest detained on border with South Ossetia

Priest David Durglishvili from the village of Nikozi was placed to an isolation ward in Tskhinvali after his detention near the border with South Ossetia, the Georgian State Security Service (SSS) reported.

David Durglishvili from the village of Nikozi was detained when he worked with other people in a field near the border with South Ossetia, reports the website of the "Rustavi-2" TV Company.

"Together with his neighbours, he was carrying a remedy against mice to the field," explained David Chiglaidze, a priest of the diocese, as quoted by the "Georgian Public Broadcaster".

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on October 20, 2018, law enforcers detained four residents of Georgia on the border with South Ossetia. Two of them, the priests, were released without fines for humanitarian reasons, reported the KGB of South Ossetia. The release of the remaining detainees was reported two days later.
