Two missing found dead

The bodies of two riot police officers thought to have gone missing back on the first day of the operation for detention of rebels in Dagestan's Untsukul district were found, a source with the republican Internal Affairs Ministry said last Friday. According to him, search units of commandos, marines and Dagestani riot policemen began to comb the Chernyi Les ("Black Forest") wood at dawn. No rebels, either dead or alive, were found by that time, according to the interlocutor.

One federal military man was reported to be killed on Wednesday and eight to ten servicemen were said to be wounded. The rebels' casualties were estimated at three to five killed, Interfax reported.
