Resident of Georgia detained for beating up LGBT supporters
Police have detained a 21-year-old resident of Georgia, suspected of attacking employees of the Success Bar.
According to the police, on December 19, a drunken young man "for the motive of sexual orientation intolerance" attacked two barmen aged 23 and 26.
The Success Bar is a place for sexual and gender minorities; in many tourist applications it is indicated as a gay bar, writes the "Echo of the Caucasus".
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported about attacks on LGBTs in Georgia, as well as about disrupting their protests. On January 28, 2018, Miranda Pagava, a transgender and activist, was attacked in Tbilisi; and on February 6, she and two other transgenders were beaten up.
