Batumi resident suspected of attacking transgender

In Batumi, policemen have detained a young man suspected of beating a transgender woman.

According to the Georgian Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA), a 28-year-old man attacked the transgender "because of his intolerance based on gender identity." He insulted the transgender woman and applied physical force to her, the "News-Georgia" has reported.

Earlier, the "Caucasian Knot" reported that on February 6, policemen detained two men on suspicion of beating up three transgender women in Tbilisi.
