Police officers beaten in Dagestan

An attack on police officers was carried out during an ID check in Khasavyurt, Dagestan.

The incident occurred near the Lakantina cafИ situated on the motor road between Khasavyurt and Babayurt, a source with the city's law enforcement agencies told Dagestan news agency.

The police officers were trying to examine the documents of five residents of the Chechen Republic. However, those refused to comply with the demand of the law enforcement agents and began to fight. Two police officers suffered seriously during the brawl and were admitted to the city hospital.

Detained and delivered to the City Division of Internal Affairs were Usman Isayevich Bisoltanov, b. 1965; Suliman Shervanievich Biisoltanov, b. 1966; Sultan Aslanbekovich Elmurzayev, b. 1966; Umar Aslanbekovich Abubakarov, b. 1964; and Khalid Khasanbekovich Janaraliyev, b. 1962; all resident in Argun, Chechen Republic. A criminal case under Article 318 of the Russian Criminal Code (use of violence against government representatives) was opened with regard to this fact.
