Chechen MIA names culprit of resonant accident in Grozny

The culprit of the resonant road accident in Grozny is not the head of the Shali District, but his second cousin; a criminal case has been initiated, the Chechen Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) announced on December 7.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that residents of Chechnya demanded from the head of the republic to react to the road accident in Grozny. Social networks users asserted that the culprit of the accident, in which a woman and a child perished, was a high-ranking official, a cousin of Ramzan Kadyrov.

On December 7, the Chechen MIA officially commented on the road accident. According to the MIA, the driver of the Mercedes car was not the head of the Shali District, as users of social networks has asserted, but his second cousin.

The press service of the MIA has called on residents of Chechnya "not to spread false information." "The head of the administration of the Shali District did not participate in this accident and has nothing to do with it," says the statement posted on December 7 on the website of the Chechen MIA.
