In Astrakhan, activist demands to provide housing for people in need

Activist Mikhail Anisenko held a solo picket with the demand to return the benefits to residents of the region reduced in 2016 and provide tenants of dilapidated and damaged houses with new housing.

On November 22, Mikhail Anisenko held his picket in front of the building of the Astrakhan Regional Duma. In his hands, the activist was holding the poster reading: "We demand to return the benefits to veterans and to provide housing for tenants of emergency fund buildings, dilapidated houses and fire victims." The picketer's poster also contained the text of an article of the Constitution: "Russia is a welfare state which policy is aimed at creating conditions to ensure decent life."

The picket lasted for about an hour, and the police did not try to stop it, Mikhail Anisenko told the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent.

"Members of the regional parliament called a police squad. However, policemen did not find any violations, since I was holding a solo picket," explained Mikhail Anisenko.

The activist held his picket during a meeting of members of the regional parliament who considered, among other issues, the draft of the regional budget.
