In the 1st quarter of 2018, 27 people fell victim to armed conflict in Northern Caucasus

In the 1st quarter of 2018, at least 27 people fell victim to the armed conflict in Northern Caucasus. Of them, 20 were killed and at least 7 were wounded. These are the results of the calculations run by the "Caucasian Knot" based on its own materials and information from other open sources.

The death toll included 12 people, involved, according to the law enforcement bodies, to the armed underground, two law enforcers, and six civilians.

Among seven wounded, there were five law enforcers and two civilians.

In the first quarter of 2018, Dagestan was the hottest spot in Northern Caucasus: in the period from January 1 to March 31, at least 17 people fell victim to the armed confrontation. Of them, 11 were killed and six others were wounded. The death toll included six civilians, one law enforcer, and four people involved, according to the law enforcement bodies, in the activities of the armed underground. The number of the wounded people included two civilians and four law enforcers.

In the first quarter of 2018, in Chechnya, eight people fell victim to the armed conflict. Of them, seven were killed and one was injured. The death toll included a law enforcer and six suspected members of the armed underground. The wounded person was a law enforcer.

In the first quarter of 2018, in Ingushetia, two suspected members of the armed underground were killed.

In the first quarter of 2018, in Kabardino-Balkaria, Karachay-Cherkessia, the Republic of North Ossetia-Alania, and in the Stavropol Territory, no victims to the armed conflict were registered.
