The police launched arrests of activists of the People's Front of Azerbaijan party without any grounds in many districts of Azerbaijan this morning, the party's press service reports. There is information about activists detained in the districts of Sabirabad, Saatly, Ujar and a number of other districts, according to Times.az.

Earlier, Caucasian Knot's correspondent reported that the Azadlyg bloc and the National Unity Movement had made a decision to hold a joint public meeting in the capital of Azerbaijan.

According to the oppositionists, their actions are a form of protests against falsifications in the recent parliamentary elections in Azerbaijan. Sweeping falsifications occurred practically in all constituencies, Panakh Guseinov, head of the election headquarters of the Azadlyg bloc, told Caucasian Knot's correspondent earlier. According to him, 21,104 violations have been registered in the course of today's vote. The most wide-spread among them were interference of the police in the voting process, failure to mark the fingers of voters, and pressure on voters.
