South Ossetia announces transfer of two detained priests to Georgia
Two out of four Georgian citizens, who were detained on October 20 at the border with South Ossetia, turned out to be priests and were released without fines for humanitarian reasons, reports today the KGB for South Ossetia.
The South-Ossetian KGB has reported that on October 20, four Georgian citizens were detained for violating the border.
"Due to the fact that Lobdjanidze and Teteloshvili are priests, the Border Guard Service of the KGB for the Republic of South Ossetia made the decision on the basis of humanitarian considerations to transfer them to the Georgian side without any fines," reports the KGB for South Ossetia.
The investigation against Shamanauri and Shukakidze, two other detainees, are underway. The issue of transferring materials to the court is under consideration, reports the KGB for South Ossetia.
