Ingush authorities refuse to extend their permit for rally in Magas

The protesters in Magas are disappointed with officials' attitude to the agreement on the Ingush-Chechen border. Activists are discussing the format of further actions, while the authorities would not extend the rally permit.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that Yunus-Bek Evkurov announced his meeting with protesters' leaders on October 17, but activists denied such an agreement.

After members of the Ingush delegation told about a failed meeting with the plenipotentiary envoy of President Vladimir Putin in Pyatigorsk, the Magas rally participants began suggesting new protest formats.

The protest rally in Magas will remain legitimate only until October 17 inclusive.

Oppositionists are committed to seek the abolition of the border agreement and to "stand till the end," but Ingush authorities of Ingushetia have not intent to extend the permit, stating that "since October 18, the republic, including the city of Magas, would hold mass sports and cultural events."
