Attacks on military men in Chechnya
Several federal servicemen were killed and wounded in Chechnya last weekend.
"A bomb blast killed a serviceman of a military engineering unit of the Russian Defence Ministry on 22 October," a source with republican law enforcement agencies said. "Unknown criminals also shot dead two Russian military men in the market place in Grozny on Saturday."
"Besides, four servicemen were wounded in a combat with a group of rebels in the Shatoi district (in the south of Chechnya — CK). Another three suffered as a result of fire on military dispositions and checkpoints in Grozny. These occurred on the night of 23 October," says the interlocutor.
