MP tells Magas rally about inquiry into vote falsification
On October 9, Ingush MPs testified in connection with a statement about the vote fraud that took place on September 4 regarding the ratification of the Ingush-Chechen border agreement, Zakrij Mamilov, an MP told the Magas rally.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that starting from October 4, the capital of Ingushetia hosts the around-the-clock mass rally in protest against the change in the border with Chechnya. Protesters demand a referendum on the border issue and resignation of the head of the republic, Yunus-Bek Evkurov, who signed the border agreement with Chechnya.
According to Zakrij Mamilov, an investigation team arrived from Moscow to investigate the fraud allegations in the Parliament of Ingushetia.
Another source confirmed the information about the start of checking MPs' statements of vote falsifications. "The ICRF (Investigating Committee of the Russian Federation) is conducting investigative actions and talks with parliamentarians. The main task is to identify violations admitted during the voting," The Magas Times community states in its publication.
The voting to ratify the border agreement took place in the Ingush parliament on October 4. The authorities of Ingushetia declared that most MPs voted "for"; however, the MPs themselves refuted this information. Several members of the Ingush National Assembly (Parliament) signed a statement on voting fraud, demanding a new discussion on the Ingush-Chechen border. On October 5, the Human Rights Centre (HRC) "Memorial" called for an investigation into the alleged falsification during the voting at parliament.
According to Ruslan Mutsolgov, the leader of the Ingush branch of the "Yabloko" Party, the MPs plan to hold the second vote on the Yunus-Bek Evkurov-Ramzan Kadyrov agreement on October 10.
