Participants of wedding party cortege continue practice of public apology in Chechnya

In Grozny, policemen sent to an impoundment lot the cars of young people who were fighting for a place in the wedding party cortege and shooting in the air. On September 24, participants of the incident also apologized on the air of the Chechen TV Channel. The incident became the second one within eight days after the public apologies voiced by participants in a similar incident which took place in Shali.

The incident at the wedding party in Grozny occurred on September 22. Its participants were summoned for a conversation to the GIBDD (road police) Department, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent has been informed today by an official from the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) for Chechnya.

"On a video with the wedding party procession, one can clearly see how two cars collide with each other to take a place within the wedding party cortege and how one of the party participants shoots in the air from a gun and shows an author of the video how to do that. The offenders were involved in a preventive conversation. Their cars are seized and placed to an impoundment lot, and the offenders themselves will be brought to administrative responsibility," the MIA's official said.

On September 24, a TV story about the incident was shown in the evening news of the "Grozny" ChGTRK (State TV and Radio Company). The TV story showed fragments of the video with collisions of cars from the wedding party cortege and five young people, two of whom apologized for their actions, the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent reported.
