Blast wounds two servicemen

Two servicemen have been wounded in Chechnya as a result of an explosion of a combat infantry vehicle, the republican Internal Affairs Ministry told RIA Novosti.

The incident occurred on Tuesday, 11 October, at 5.50 pm in the Shali district, between Agishty and Shali, according to the ministry.

"An unidentified explosive device planted on the roadside detonated when a combat infantry vehicle belonging to a military unit of the Russian Defence Ministry was going by," an Internal Affairs Ministry representative said.

He also said that a deputy company commander and a contract serviceman had sustained wounds, both admitted to hospital in a satisfactory condition.
