Two law enforcers injured in a clash in Kabardino-Balkaria

OMON (riot police) fighters were injured in clashes that occurred not far from the village of Zayukovo, the Ministry of Internal Affairs (MIA) reported. Law enforcers continued patrolling the streets of the Kendelen village.

The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on September 18, residents of the Kendelen village in Kabardino-Balkaria did not let participants of the equestrian procession organized in memory of the 310th anniversary of the Kanzhali battle to ride through the village. The refusal provoked clashes. On September 19, activists tried to break through the cordon, and the police used tear gas. The clashes also took place in the village of Zayukovo near Kendelen.

According to the MIA, during the clashes in the Zayukovo village, a stone hit a fighter of the special forces unit, and as a result, the law enforcers got a traumatic brain injury. An OMON fighter got an injury to his feet after a car hit him.

On September 19, when a group of people attempted to break through the police cordon towards the Kendelen village, the policemen, who were on duty at the checkpoint of the road-and-patrol service (known as DPS) in Baksan, had to shoot in the air.

Today, the situation in the Kendelen village is calm, and the night passed without any incidents. The streets of the village are still being patrolled by the police.
