Police officer shot dead in Chechnya

A Chechen police officer was killed by unidentified persons in Chechnya's Grozny district, a source with republican law enforcement agencies said. The murder was committed on the night of 6 October in Vinogradnoye, according to the interlocutor.

"Unidentified persons killed an officer of the convoy service of Chechnya's Internal Affairs Ministry in the yard of his own house in Vinogradnoye, Grozny district," said the source. "The motives of this crime are yet unclear. The murderers did not take either the policeman's ID or his official weapon."
