Zaur Dadaev transferred to another penal colony for violating custody regime

Zaur Dadaev, sentenced in the case on the Nemtsov's murder, was transferred from a penal colony in Irkutsk to a penitentiary institution in Angarsk, where he would serve his sentence in more severe conditions, the Federal Penitentiary Service (known as FSIN) reports today.

On July 13, 2017, the Moscow District Military Court sentenced five Chechen natives accused of killing of Boris Nemtsov. Zaur Dadaev, who was considered by investigators to be the gunman, was sentenced to 20 years in prison.

The "Caucasian Knot" has informed that the agency "Rosbalt" reported with reference to its sources that at the penal colony, Zaur Dadaev was threatened with a transfer to more severe conditions of detention after his refusal to cooperate with investigators.

Zaur Dadaev was transferred from the Irkutsk penal colony No. 3 where he was serving his sentence to the penal colony No. 2 in Angarsk, reports today the RIA "Novosti" with reference to Olga Khindanova, the head for the press service of the FSIN's Chief Department for the Irkutsk Region.

The prisoner was transferred to the penal colony No. 2 in Angarsk, since he repeatedly and intentionally violated the order at the penitentiary institution, Olga Khindanova reported.

According to the head for the press service of the FSIN's Chief Department for the Irkutsk Region, "the law provides that a prisoner can be kept there for up to one year."
