Nagorno-Karabakh accuses Azerbaijan of 200 bombardments during the week

During the week of August 19-25, units of the Azerbaijani Army made more than 2500 shots at positions of the Defence Army of the Nagorno-Karabakh Republic (NKR), its Ministry of Defence (MoD) has reported.

On August 12-18, NKR recorded 170 shelling episodes from Azerbaijan.

Also, during seven days, Azerbaijan violated the ceasefire for 200 times, by using various small arms, the NKR's MoD has added.

"Mostly, the advanced units of the NKR's Defence Army refrained from responding," the MoD has stated.

Its counterpart, the Azerbaijani MoD informs daily about Armenia's shelling both from its territory and from the territories controlled by the NKR's authorities. According to the calculations of the "Caucasian Knot", during the week of August 19-25, Azerbaijan counted 609 violations of the armistice by the opponent. According to Baku, during the past 24 hours, there were 95 such cases.

Let us note that on August 24, the NKR, for the first time, held civil defence exercises in the event of an air strike. Siren sounds reminded people about the terrible times of the First Karabakh War, residents of Stepanakert have noted. However, some of them confessed that they did not even think about going to a shelter, because they feel confident under the protection of their Defence Army.
