Opening of biennale "Kubachinskaya Tower" gathers over 100 people
About 100 people came to the opening of the graphic prints biennale "Kubachinskaya Tower", presented in the old watchtower of the Kubachi village in Dagestan.
A message reporting that artists will come to Kubachi to draw village landscapes and donate their works to a local museum has been received by the "Caucasian Knot" SMS-service. "15 artists from different cities of Russia and the CIS countries will come to Kubachi to take part in the project 'Biennale of Graphic Prints 'Kubachinskaya Tower''. The artists will draw the aul (village) landscapes, and each of them will donate one work to the local museum," wrote the author of the SMS-message.
About 100 people from various cities of Dagestan and regions of Russia took part in the biennale opening ceremony. The exhibition is held at the defensive three-storey tower built in the early 14th century and located in the centre of the village. Among the participants of the first graphic prints biennale "Kubachinskaya Tower", there are graphic artists from Moscow, Saint Petersburg, Kazan, and cities of Dagestan, who work in the author printing techniques, including etching, xylography, and lithography, reports the "Caucasian Knot" correspondent, who attended the event.
