In Kabardino-Balkaria, villagers complain of long-standing problems with water
In the village of Vtoroy Lesken, residents of Kumakhov Street have disseminated a video appeal with a complaint about the long absence of water supply. According to the villagers, they are willing to pay for the necessary work to restore the water supply, but the local authorities ignore their proposal.
On July 14, the video appeal was posted on the "Another Nalchik" channel in YouTube.
In their appeal, residents of Lesken have noted that other streets of their village enjoy water supply, but water does not reach their quarter in Kumakhov Street. According to the villagers, the same situation takes place every summer during at least five years.
"We want to be connected to the pipe which supplies water around the clock. It is located literally 200 meters from our lane," says a local woman in the video.
The villagers have demonstrated their collective appeals to the prosecutor and the head of the Lesken District. According to the citizens, their numerous appeals are ignored by the local and district authorities. Meanwhile, the residents assert they regularly pay for the water supply.
"We even offered to pay for those 200 meters of the pipes. We offered them to be installed at our expense. The head of the village administration … still does not take any measures," said another local woman.
