Former Dagestani Minister for Public Health detained - source
Today, Tanka Ibragimov, the former Minister for Public Health of Dagestan, who resigned in April 2018, has been detained in his Makhachkala house on suspicion of embezzlement of funds from the budget, reports a source from the local law enforcement bodies.
The "Caucasian Knot" has reported that on April 2, Vladimir Vasiliev accepted the letter about resignation at own request submitted by Tanka Ibragimov, Dagestani Minister for Public Health.
The resignation of Tanka Ibragimov was preceded by mass criticism from local residents, who were surprised by the praise of Makhachkala hospitals voiced by Veronika Skvortsova, Russian Minister for Public Health. In early March, Veronika Skvortsova visited only exemplary medical institutions and made a biased conclusion about the level of health care in Dagestan, residents of the republic suggested then. The Dagestani Ministry for Public Health recognized the critics of the local residents as fair.
"On Saturday morning, law enforcers came to search the house of Tanka Ibragimov and detained him," reported a source from the law enforcement bodies of Dagestan as quoted by the TASS.
According to the source, Tanka Ibragimov is suspected of embezzling budget funds allocated for the purchase of medical equipment.
